I have to come out and say that I was inspired from this season of “The Walking Dead.” Sophia is missing and there is a search party that has gone on for several episodes. I have to say that with the way my mind works and how I’m not a fan of dragging out a good story. I like an arc that gets tied up nice and quick.
I tweeted something along the lines that maybe Sophia got bored with how depressing her fellow refugees were and ran off to find something better. I figure a zombie apocalypse can be seen as one or two ways: disastrous or opportunistic. I’m going with the latter.
We’re following the story somewhat similar but different. We have the idea of a girl that runs away from her parents and stumbles upon a band of roving performers. All displaced and making the best out of their situation. Our girl figures out the first night that the performers are all undead but have very basic skills. Unfortunately, she gets the job of cleaning up after them. A truly gruesome career but a good start for a 13 year old. I will promise you that it will be disgusting and you will probably not sleep. And yes, it is a circus with zombies and not animals. Think of it as an undead Cirque du Soleil.
The working title is “Falling to Pieces.” I like the way it is working and will start posting sections of it for you all to read.
